Questions About Playing Club Volleyball
Our club costs $3800 for ages 14-18 for the 2021/22 club season. $750 at time of signing. $385 per month starting September 1 and ending April 1, 2022. 10% discount if paid in full at signing, so $3420 for the season. Siblings can get one month free of club dues if paying monthly.
The initial $750 is divided 66% for player gear and 33% for initial setup/tournament fees (qualifiers, coaches’ memberships, etc.). The remainder of the fees go towards coaches’ salaries, practice facility costs, and the rest of the tournament fees.
Players get 2 sublimated Under Armour jerseys, 1 additional numbered shirt, 3 practice shirts, Under Armour spandex, a pair of Under Armour kneepads, 2 pairs of Under Armour socks, Under Armour warm-ups, and Under Armour backpack with player number on it. We also have a store available in our facility for any additional gear needed throughout the season. Along with this, we open at least 3 online stores during the season when you can purchase spirit wear and more Under Armour gear.
No, your daughter does not have to tryout during the tryout weekend. If she is not able to attend the official tryout weekend and she has an interest in the club or team she can contact Sam after and schedule a separate tryout. Anyone can tryout for a club if they have not already signed a contract with a club at any time after the beginning tryout dates.
**********Our Tryouts are two and a half hours long and you can drop in anytime during this time slot. Also, it is FREE!********
No, you can sign with a club anytime during the season. Although ideally you would probably want to sign before the practices start so you can maximize your court time and money. This goes for any club. Please do NOT feel pressured to sign by a certain date just because a salesperson/coach is telling you to.
Season starts in November and typically ends at the end of June or beginning of July.
Our 14-18 teams practice 3 times a week 2 hours each practice.
There are usually 3 qualifying tournaments, 3 mandatory tournaments, and 2 championship tournaments during the regular season. Dates of these tournaments will be posted as soon as SCVA post the dates for the 2021-2022 Season.
Earth Volleyball would like our travel teams to participate in at least 3 travel tournaments which can last between 2-4 days and can be located out of state. This is usually discussed with the team, coaches, and director at the beginning of season; however, the ultimate decision will vary from team to team and will be determined by players financials, availability of players, and the dates of the the Travel Tournaments. Travel Tournaments are one of the best ways to expose our players to College Coaches.

It's not all about winning even though our 14 team finished in the top 5 in the 2020/21 season and our 17 team ranked 11th in the 2020/21 season. Our club and coaches believe in the philosophy of training the whole player not just one position. Our players learn how to do everything from passing to setting to hitting. Our middle blockers can step in to set a ball for the outside if needed. Sam has been known to put our libero in as a middle when he needed to because she can JUMP, Hit, and Block! Your daughter won't get pigeon holed at our club. Learning every position makes them even more valuable on their high school team and more attractive to potential college coaches. Our players are never told "You are too old for me to train you to do something else".
